Job duties:
- The FI/SNAP Interview Specialist performs general work duties related to the administration of the SNAP and TANF programs in the Economic Services Division in the Beaufort County office to help restore or improve customer financial stability.
- Conducts a minimum of 15 quality interviews as required and process at least 50% of cases as assigned by supervisor. Ability to manage time and work under required deadlines, prioritize tasks and focus under high levels of activity in the workstation area, verbally communicate by phone and face to face contact.
- Maintains electronic case files (in agency designated system) accurately and timely for documentation and auditing purposes; safeguards confidentiality of files and information in files. Able to type and independently operate agency computers and phone equipment.
- Identifies and documents over-payments and makes at least 3 possible claims referrals to the Benefit Integrity Unit; prepares supporting documents for Fair Hearings and attends hearings as directed.
- Provides services in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations and agency policies and procedures.
- Participates in training and supervisory meetings or staffing as required.
- Maintain and keep current your work time, annual leave and sick leave on SCEIS.
- Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed.
Agency Requirements
A High School Diploma and three (3) years of relevant program experience in clerical, administration, Social Work, correctional, administration, or general business administration.
An Associate's Degree and one (1) year of relevant program experience in clerical, administration, Social Work, correctional, administration, or general business administration.
A Bachelor’s Degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
A valid driver's license is required. Must be able to travel within the state for the purpose of training and meetings to include overnight travel.
