Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for nearly 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.
We are currently seeking a full-time Financial Interview Specialistat Primary Care, to act as the initial contact and liaison for new patients seeking treatment services. This position serves as an integral part of the revenue cycle by capturing accurate, complete, and up-to-date patient demographics and financial information. Essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Meets with patients to gather and evaluate confidential patient demographics and financial data for purposes of determining patient available funding sources, qualification for financial assistance/subsidy and/or patient financial responsibility.
• Ensures completion of all required paperwork related to entrance into treatment and coverage of services and works with patient to obtain insurance information.
• Obtains signatures on required forms and documents needed for enrollment and billing.
• Assists patients with Medicaid online application process as needed.
• Assists patients with completing paperwork required for subsidy applications.
• Reviews any potential out of pocket costs with patients including non-covered services.
• Registers or updates patient information in billing software, if necessary, prepares documents for scanning and scans any necessary records.
• Ensures patient is directed to appropriate intake/assessment provider based on funding sources.
• Effectively communicates with patients, outside sources, and other agency staff as needed to facilitate appropriate financial admissions and to relay information to others as part of a team.
• Maintains updated knowledge of billing procedures related to Financial Interviews, client billing, Medicaid, Medicare and commercial insurances.
• Works closely with and assists other members of the Billing department as requested.
• Carry out policies and procedures of the agency; may participate in community work, staff development, agency-wide projects; serve on agency committees/teams, attend meetings and perform other miscellaneous duties as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma and a minimum of two years' experience in a physician's office, clinic, hospital business office or related area dealing with the public in collection of data is required.
• Experience with electronic health record software, and knowledge of insurance, Medicaid and Medicare billing rules is preferred.
• Candidate must have experience with and be comfortable working in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on skills related to Excel, Word and Outlook.
