Fish processors work in the processing plant located in Anchorage to convert raw fish bi-product into a processed, high quality product intended for the manufacturing of pet food.
Duties and Responsibilities
The job of the Fish Processor largely defines many roles in the production plant of the company.
- Identify fish by species
- Tend to and operate machines
- Inspect fish by-product to meet company quality control standards
- Stack 50 pound frozen blocks onto pallets for shipping
- Cleaning factory equipment
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Capable of working long and variable work shifts for extended periods of time
- Work 8 to 12 hours with periodic breaks depending on work demands, production requirements and fish volumes. Overtime (OT) pay is available.
- Ability to work within a strenuous and sometimes hazardous environment.
- Able to work with hands, do heavy lifting and stand for long periods of time.
- Tolerate a quick environment that can be very wet, cold and noisy.
