ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate equipment that packages and seals seafood.
- Prepare and pack crab stuffed fish fillets.
- Clean fish (remove bones, skin, parasites, etc.).
- Assist in packaging/preparation of other seafood products.
- Apply labeling that correctly identifies species, country of origin, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training:
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Related Experience/Requirements:
- Food processing or food preparation experience preferred.
- Prior experience working in a production or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Prior experience using Multivac sealing equipment or labeling machinery desired.
- Knowledge of commercial seafood species desired.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Capable of operating equipment that seals and labels product.
- Food safety requirements.
- Capable of performing various duties that include manual stuffing of crab meat into fish fillets, packing cooked crab products, clean fish (while using a knife) adhering to food sanitation general safety requirements.
- Retain information concerning packed fish (i.e. item number, label type, etc.)
- Ability to safely operate packaging equipment/familiar with lockout/tag out or similar safety procedures.
Physical Requirements:
- The work environment is cold (between the 35-45 degrees) and while performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle objects, or controls.
- Must be able to lift and/or move items up to 25-60 pounds.
