Beachcomber Trading Post Restaurant on Manasota Key in Englewood, FL is seeking to fill a position for work in our very popular and busy food truck kitchen. Lead/Prep Cooks are invited to apply for immediate openings in our paradise location.
Lead/Prep Cooks are key players in ensuring we are serving the best quality food. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food truck and delivering exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items, maintaining cleanliness and food safety guidelines, and collaborating with the food truck team to provide an outstanding dining experience for our customers.
As a Lead/Prep Cook in our food trailer, we are looking for someone energetic, hardworking and dependable. You must be able to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays.
Typical Shifts: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 2:00 PM - 9:30 PM/ 10:00 PM
Job Responsibilities
- Take, follow directions and assist Head Chef.
- Prepares all required items.
- Sets-up, maintains and breaks down prep/cook station.
- Prep for service for the next shift.
- Passionately prepare, portion, and/or cook food items to quality specifications.
- Covers, dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are re-usable.
- Notifies Head Chef of expected shortages.
- Ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary.
- Assists the Head Chef in maintaining security and safety in the kitchen.
- Follow established health and food safety guidelines, recipes, standards, and procedures.
- Maintains the highest sanitary standards. Always clean as you go.
- Sweeping and mopping floors, as required.
- Cleaning trash cans and disposing of refuse on a regular basis.
- Assisting with the unloading of deliveries.

- Be able to bend, twist, stoop, use hands and arms continuously, lift heavy trays and pans.
Preferred Credentials
- Food Handler Certification
