Summary of Duties:
Under general supervision, the primary function of this position is to perform ongoing, routine and repetitive fiscal tasks both in a manual and automated payroll system. The incumbent will compile and compute payroll data from a variety of source documents such as Time Reports, Personnel Action Forms, withholding forms, etc. The incumbent will prepare, review, verify and process payroll documents under tight deadlines to help process a semi-monthly payroll. Strong communication skills are required to request information or help resolve discrepancies. The incumbent should possess the ability to pay attention to detail and work accurately with numbers. Incumbent should be prepared to work as a member of a team. Must be able to work mandatory overtime.
Once training is complete this position may offer a hybrid schedule of up to two days per week remote as business needs dictate.
Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent; one year of general clerical or fiscal experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook and Word.
Ability to pay attention to detail and work accurately with numbers.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work additional hours or overtime including possible nights, weekends and/or holidays to meet deadlines during peak workload situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with WSU mainframe accounting systems (DEPPS, HEPPS, FACTS, BALANCES, myWSU) or similar systems.
Clerical experience in higher education.

Monthly Salary: Range 34 | $2,940 to $3,883 (Step A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 OR applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
