Firmware Software Engineer Ii

Summary:
The main function of a Firmware Software Engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers work. A typical Firmware Software Engineer researches, designs, develops and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific and general computing applications.
Responsibilities:

• Develop & evolve system services (mainly in C++, sometimes in Java) on Quest (Mixed Reality) family of devices
• Develop & maintain automated tests using various test frameworks
• Benchmark and measure key metrics, optimize KPIs

Skills:

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
• Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
• Expert in C++ (or similar languages that requires memory management)
• Expertise coroutines, threading/synchronization primitives
• Ability to leverage telemetry/logging for debugging
• Strong system engineering skills, abilities to design and building highly concurrent systems with thread management
• Having experience working on an OS, AOSP, NDK, Binder are nice to have

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering or relevant field required.

Compensation:
The pay rate range above is the base hourly pay range that Aditi Consulting reasonably expects to pay someone for this position (compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, competencies, experience, location and end client requirements).
