As a Fire and Life Safety Officer I or II (Plan Reviewer)for the Division of the State Architect in the Department of General Services, you will be a partner in the design and construction of safe, compliant, and secure schools.
In this position, you will:
· Review plans and specifications of public schools, community colleges, and other buildings to ensure Fire and Life Safety code compliance
· Review fire alarm and sprinkler drawings, addenda, deferred approvals, construction change documents and other submittals for Fire and Life Safety code compliance
· Provide regulatory assistance to design professionals during the plan review process
You will be successful in this position if you have experience with:
· Architectural design for Fire and Life Safety code compliance
· Plan review
· Fire protection equipment, systems, and prevention standards
· California Code of Regulations, Title 19 and 24
· Basic engineering, architectural, and building design practices and procedures
· Standards, methodology and terminology used in the building construction industry
