Forest Materials, a Commercial Architectural Woodwork company and Union Millwork Shop is looking for an experienced candidate to join our Team as a painter - sprayer - finisher for cabinets, doors and millwork. Seeking an experienced Finisher - Painter, to lead the Department, who can prepare all surfaces for painting and staining, including sanding, patching, cleaning and masking. Must be able to paint, stain, seal and varnish wood surfaces using brushes, spray guns, rollers, cloth, brushes, sponge, etc. and able to prepare surfaces for finishing including sanding, removing old paint, fill holes and cracks with putty, plaster or filler. Able to select premixed paints or mix correctly with pigment, oil, thinning and drying agents to prepare paints and stains to match to specified colors. Able to mix and thin paints to appropriate consistency for spraying. Experienced in using, setting up, cleaning and inspecting spray equipment and maintaining clean paint guns, hoses, water reservoir and other painting accessories and maintain an organized, clean and safe environment. Able to follow directions, have superb attention to detail with diligent focus on accuracy and quality. Must have journeyman level training or other experience to equal 5 years in the painting field, including painting and staining of cabinets, doors and millwork.
Responsibilities:- Prepare all surfaces for painting, including sanding, patching, cleaning and masking- Mix and thin paints to appropriate consistency for spraying- Apply industrial paints to prepared surfaces- Diligent focus on accuracy and quality - Maintain clean paint guns, hoses, water reservoir and other painting accessories- Maintain an organized, clean and safe environment- Complete other tasks as assigned
Requirements:- Minimum 5 years of experience painting cabinets, doors and millwork- Experience with mixing and spraying paint and solvent-based stains- Experience using, setting up, cleaning and inspecting spray equipment- Team player willing to help others and provide excellent customer service- Excellent attendance and strong work ethic
Environmental-Physical requirements- Must be able to handle dust, noise, lumber- Exposure to paint, stain and chemicals- Excellent physical condition and coordination, able to carry and lift frequently- Requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, lifting, crouching, kneeling, grasping
Hours RequiredFull-time Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm (Summer Hours 7:00am-3:30pm), limited mandatory over-time
