Financial Planning and Analysis Coordinator


Financial Planning and Analysis


Role Mission:

The Financial Planning and Analysis Coordinator plays a pivotal role within the Financial Planning and Analysis department, serving as a liaison and responsible party between Finance compliance and grants, Human Assets, and Finance. The primary objective of this role is to ensure seamless coordination and communication among various departments, specifically addressing the intricacies of federal language on job descriptions, submission timelines for reimbursement collection, and other related projects. This Financial Planning and Analysis Coordinator position is crucial for maintaining financial compliance, improving cash flow, and fostering collaboration among departments. The successful candidate will contribute to the organization's efficiency and success through effective coordination and strategic oversight.


Location:

This is a full-time remote position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.


Travel Expectations:

Up to 30% of the time during the busiest parts of the year


What You’ll Do – Accountabilities


In this role you will:


Liaison Between Departments:

  • Act as a bridge between Finance compliance, grants, and Human Assets, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Facilitate discussions and meetings to address the requirements and concerns of each department.


Federal Compliance Oversight:

  • Stay abreast of federal guidelines related to job descriptions and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the relevant departments to incorporate and update federal language in job descriptions.


Project Management Coordination:

  • Manage projects related to federal compliance, job descriptions, and submission timelines for reimbursement collection.
  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and deadlines are met.


Submission Timelines and Reimbursement:

  • Establish and maintain submission timelines for various projects and grants.
  • Monitor and track reimbursement submissions to ensure timely collection and improved cash flow.


Documentation and Validation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to compliance, grants, and job descriptions.
  • Regularly validate the completeness of documentation to avoid issues with cash flow.


Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate reports on the status of ongoing projects, compliance measures, and reimbursement collections.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for optimizing processes.


Training and Communication:

  • Conduct training sessions for relevant staff on federal compliance requirements, submission procedures, and other related topics.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication channels among departments.

  • Proficient in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Required experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience: 2+ years experience at a school system or nonprofit; experience managing cross-functional projects and teams in a large, mission-driven organization
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment


What We Offer:


Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $46,300 and $54,200, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment
