Job description
Position Objective
Financial analysts provide timely financial information, forecasting, variance analysis and modeling to finance and operations leadership for the purpose of data driven business decisions. Using date and analysis, this role determines and communicates program financial performance, key drivers, and future risks / opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities
Collect, analyze, and present program financial data to include budget, actuals, and forecast in support of your dedicated program(s) and/or department(s).
Create detailed financial reports, graphs, and other products to track performance and to aid management in making effective business decisions.
Develop variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and forecast for monthly, quarterly, and annual comparisons at the program, product line and company levels.
Daily maintenance and management of Oracle Projects, including deliverables, budgets, forecasts, and Reporting results.
Provide all program information and analysis relevant to accounting for financial close activities. Analyze and resolve accounting discrepancies and implement corrective action.
Assists financial management with developing and evaluating financial models, assumptions for reasonableness and accuracy for data-based decisions and projections.
Assist in providing regular financial guidance to and interaction with other personnel and functions in order to improve operating results, measure performance and promote compliance with established policies and procedures.
Coordinates and implements system and process changes for continuous improvement.
Required Education, Qualifications and Experience
US Citizenship
4-year degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferable.
A minimum of 2 years in financial analysis, accounting, or a related discipline.
Earned Value Management (EVM) knowledge and experience required.
Computer Skills: MS Office, particularly MS Excel; including pivot tables, formulas, and data manipulation.
Experience with ERP / financial systems such as Oracle EBS is preferable.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills plus an ability to function in a collaborative environment. Ability to maintain good working relationships with all personnel at the Company.
Government contracting experience is valuable but not required.
