The salary for this position is $60,000 per year.
This is one position for the following locations:
- MACI (Madison Correctional) – Columbus/London, OH Area
- RCI (Ross Correctional) – Columbus/Chillicothe, OH Area
- Assigned to manage the FAFSA completion efforts at one or more specific prison site(s) in a region within the State of Ohio
- Workday will include time spent working 1-1 with incarcerated individuals inside a prison and time working remotely
- Advises and supports incarcerated students to become Sinclair students while helping them access the Federal Pell Grant
- Guide incarcerated students through admissions and Financial Aid processes (including verification, student loan default, etc.)
- Provides secondary support services for students’ success, including counseling, orientation, placement testing, registration, tutoring, textbooks, and library resources
- Represents Sinclair and serves as a liaison between Sinclair and the off-campus prison sites
- Ensure that all regulations and policies of ED, ODHE, the DRC, and Sinclair are followed
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum of two years related experience required. Related experience includes education, social work, corrections, law enforcement, and similar fields.
- In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, an Associate’s Degree with minimum of four years related experience required.
- Understanding of Financial Aid and Admissions processes in higher education preferred
- Reliable Transportation to the corrections facilities required
- Ability to exercise leadership for education program development in the unique and complex environment of a correctional facility required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to work well with diverse constituents, including college faculty and administrators as well as inmates and staff in correctional facilities required
- Professionalism, good judgment, and high ethical standards required
- Ability to pass an ODRC background check required
