The role you'll contribute:
The Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for counseling students and parents regarding all Financial Aid
programs. Also, is responsible for awarding, monitoring, and inputting Financial Aid. Works with students to
assist them in completing all paperwork required for Financial Aid. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The value you'll bring to the team:
· Assist students with application procedures, student status changes, withdrawals and re-entries.
· Maintain familiarity with all applicable Financial Aid regulations and procedures.
· Basic counseling to students and parents regarding Financial Aid process, Financial Aid programs, policies and procedures.
· Complete student verification files in accordance to federal and institutional student aid guidelines.
· Award Financial Aid to qualified applicants.
· Maintain Financial Aid files ensuring all required forms are in the file.
· Assist students with Financial Aid concerns.
· Assist the Financial Aid Director and Assistant Director as needed with other job-related tasks.
· Attend and make presentations at Open Houses, Senior nights, and other public functions as needed.
· Review student files to award or adjust Financial Aid awards due to change in eligibility, over awards, etc.
· Engage in departmental training and professional development activities.
· Ensure quality customer to all students and guests.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Education and Experience Preferred:
· 2 years' experience working in Financial Aid
· Experience in Excel
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Psychology or other higher education degree
