Educational and Experience Requirement:

High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent with a minimum of four (4) years relevant clerical experience is required. Financial aid or other university-related work experience would be helpful. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

Provides personalized Financial AidCustomer Service to prospective and current students/parents.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provides personalized Customer Service at the highest level. Provides Financial Aid program assistance to students regarding the application process for grants, loans, scholarships, work-study, and/or other information related to Financial Aid. Responds to all inbound/outbound telephone calls and emails regarding Financial Aid. Researches questions and responds to customer inquiries. Inputs data and ensures the accuracy of information. Conducts research as requested. Answers questions and informs students of current eligibility status using available resources. Responsible for the dissemination of Financial Aid information regarding applications or any other information as required. Runs processes, reviews student Financial Aid statuses and provides information via telephone or in person. Maintains complex files. Types routine reports and correspondence. Enters data into computer as needed. Requires some experience and the occasional use of independent judgment. Provides statistical and vital information to management team on various data. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications:

Requires answering telephones. During peak work loads, telephone periods may be extensive. Requires ability to work at the front desk, encountering students, parents, etc. Requires ability to retain and relay financial information to students and parents. Experience with Financial Aid Software helpful. Computer skills required.
Up to 40% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
