Job Summary/Description:Assists with customer service and information processing for the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarship in a professional manner; provides information concerning federal, state and institutional Financial Aid programs as well as a general information regarding the admission and enrollment process. Performs general office work and other related activities, processes, and functions for the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.
Typical Duties/Job Duties:- Provide front line customer service through in-person, phones and email. Answer general Financial Aid and scholarship questions regarding policy and process. Refer more detailed questions or need for assistance to other in the office.
- Assists with the intake of forms and other Financial Aid and scholarships information – processes, collects, and distributes documents to staff members; updates tracking requirements and document Imaging – uploads documents, collect and review documents for accuracy..
- Assist with the verification process and reviews the information in the Banner/Workflow systems.
- Reviews information for accuracy and communicates with applicants concerning the requirements needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of federal, state and institutional aid program regulations and processes.
- Support the training and over site of student workers. Accesses a variety of computer programs, particularly the BANNER system database, OnBase Imaging database, Workflow, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and other programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Customer service mindset/skills/attitude. Proven ability to communicate (oral and written) along with evidence of ability to maintain good professional/interpersonal relationships. Knowledge of federal, state and institutional Financial Aid programs as well as Financial Aid & Scholarships philosophy and fundamental practices/procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:High school or equivalent and two years experience working in an office environment with customer service operations. Ability to perform effectively in stressful situations.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree
Background in Financial Aid or University setting.
