PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND POSITION OVERVIEW
The Finance & Operations Associate plays an integral role in supporting our strength and sustainability through the organization and maintenance of critical financial and business processes. The position reports directly to the COO. The position works closely with the Operations team and Office Manager, as well as the Board of Directors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Apply analytical skills to monitor the school’s financial operations, accounting principles, practices and procedures, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Collect, enter and accurately prepare all payroll data (timesheets, benefits updates, reimbursements, etc). Follow up with all payroll-related communications and correspondence to staff prior to payroll date as needed.
- Leads accounts payable process, ensuring proper documentation is efficiently collected and digitally archived in order to process timely payments.
- Lead the creation and analysis of monthly financial reports for managers and board
- Leads annual audit preparation efforts to ensure a clean audit, ensuring zero findings
- Accurately and clearly records all donations and cash receipts in a timely manner; prepares all bank deposits in accordance with our fiscal policy manual
- Support logistics and preparation of school programs and events
- Model, promote and embody the International Baccalaureate learner profile to create a cohesive school culture of academic and personal success
- Other duties and assignments as directed by Chief Operating Officer
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or similar field
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar nonprofit role
- Keen analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong data management skills, fluency with data and numbers; advanced proficiency with Excel
- Experience with grant/government contract management
- Prior experience with school operations desired
