Finance Associate

Market My Market is looking for a full-time, in-house Finance Associate/bookkeeper to manage the accounts payable, accounts receivable and bookkeeping for a fully remote digital marketing agency. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations and will work closely with the CEO and Account Management team.

About the Role

We’re searching for a skilled financial specialist to process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The person in this role will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our clients and our vendors.

The person in this role will create, send and monitor invoices to clients. They will submit client payments via credit card and ach. They will also monitor and classify all payments to vendors and ensure our books are reconciled each month. They will check accounting records and classifications in quickbooks for accuracy, and organize company documents.

This position will work remotely but may require quarterly travel for in-person team meetings.

Pay is commensurate with experience. As part of the hiring process for this position we will be running background and credit checks, calling references, and assessing for attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Will provide financial and administrative support by ensuring vendor invoices/bills are processed and expenses are controlled by receiving vendor invoices, processing, verifying, and reconciling vendor statements according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely and accurate manner
• Provide accounting support and all other duties as assigned
• Properly classify and reconcile expenses and income in Quickbooks Online
• Prepare monthly financial statements
• Respond to all vendors inquiries via phone or email as well as maintain internal and external relationships with vendors and clients to assist them in solving AP/AR issues
• Review all vendor invoices for appropriate documentation and routing for approval before payment is processed
• Prepare invoices for clients
• Monitor invoicing and money collection processes
• Maintain proper filing of invoices
• Support the company in optimizing our financial transactions and systems by performing reconciliation of payments and customer accounts
• Communicate discrepancies to leadership team, identify slow-paying customers, and recommend collection candidates
• Strengthen and grow relationships with clients by communicating with customers regarding past-due accounts
• Assist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for performance improvement

Qualifications

• Proficient in desktop QuickBooks, required; ProAdvisor preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
• 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable including receipt of invoices, expensing to correct accounts, and routing for approval
• Strong analytical and administrative skills
• Detail oriented and organized
• Able to multitask and prioritize
• See tasks through to the end
• Excellent data entry skills
• Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
• Demonstrates sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
• Able to work autonomously and independently
