Finance Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as an Entry Level Finance Assistant. This position will primarily involve providing administrative support to the finance department, including data entry, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a basic understanding of financial principles, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, including inputting financial transactions into accounting software.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including verifying invoices, preparing payment batches, and reconciling statements.
• Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities, such as reconciling bank statements and preparing journal entries.
• Assist with financial reporting tasks, including generating standard reports and compiling data for analysis.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
• Provide general administrative support to the finance department, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and filing documents.
• Take initiative to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the finance function.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other common office software applications.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is a plus but not required.

Pay: $18.88 - $20.10 per hour
