Job Title: Field Service Technician III (Survey Foreman)

Job Overview:
Oversee and perform field Survey work as a working Survey Foreman. Ensure accurate and timely layout and as-built data collection tasks including pile pinning and staking of features as well as capturing edge-of-trench and cable center-line shots for construction of Utility Solar jobsites. Manage crew (2-4 individuals) of FST1 and FST2 Surveyors and Helpers; train, coach and empower crew to understand the tasks and importance of quality data management while prioritizing Safety and Quality.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Top of Pile quality check along with filling out the QC documents.
• Trench layout
• Road Layout
• Driving TOPO'S
• As Builts
• Using the proper nomenclature on feature codes when doing stakeouts and as built data collection.
• When staking out any construction point, you will be required to take a shot that is within .052' / 5/8" tolerance for data verification.
• Starting a new work order EVERY day with the date followed by the employee's initials.
• Checking in and out daily on an existing control point to verify GPS accuracy for the day.
Qualifications:
• Provide work control lines and elevations that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by crafts (Ex: forms for concrete pours, anchor bolts, piping hanger and supports, etc.).
• Provide checking of “as built” conditions that require the use of surveying techniques.
• Provide topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantities.
• Provide quantity calculations as required.
• Prepare documentation of surveying activities (field books) “as built” drawings and submit for approval upon completion.
• Maintain condition and adjustment of surveying equipment.
• Coordinate surveying activities with the assigned engineer to meet the construction requirements.
• Accuracy verification of plan drawings.
• Thorough knowledge of and ability to use all the surveying equipment and techniques essential.
• Ability to accurately read blueprints and calculate shapes (geometric, etc.).
• Perform additional related assignments as directed by supervisor.
