ZF Marine Propulsion Systems Miramar, LLC has a job opening for the position of Field Service Technician II - OE based out of its location in Miramar, FL.
Job Duties: Responsible to Perform Original Equipment (OE) modifications, service repairs, unit overhauls & inspections, general troubleshooting and testing per scheduling; Work with ZF Marine staff to ensure appropriate actions implemented to meet customer demands, and service & delivery issues timely resolved & communicated; Maintain shop work area and tools/equipment; Ensure maintenance & safe operation of company vehicle & equipment; Maintain good housekeeping practices while using safe work practices and proper tools/equipment, incl. precision measuring instruments; Perform sea trials; Ship/pack, receive/store, & ensure inventory controls maintained; Assist in Dealer & Field Service Technician training; Conduct warranty investigations & prepare required reporting; Assist in service order completion; and Assist in general maintenance of ZF Marine facilities. Position requires up to 50% travel to domestic and international locations to perform repairs onboard ships (e.g., removal & installation of complete transmissions or components; In hull complete or partial rebuilds; Testing at docks & sea trials).
Requirements: High School diploma plus 2 years of experience as a Service Technician for marine products or in any other occupation in which you acquired maintenance and repair experience for marine products, and demonstrated experience with: Hydraulic control valves used for application of power transmission clutches; ZF 320, 325, 350, 550, 1900 & 2500 Transmissions installation; IRM320 and 350 Family of Marine Gears Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Repair; SKF oil injection method to remove and install bearings and gears; Rebuilding and testing hydraulic control valves; Rebuilding and testing electric control valves; and Time entry for tracking and billing repairs or other tasks.
