The Field Service Technician will perform field-related PM and standard repairs on Diesel Engines and equipment at customer's site with the highest level of customer service, while serving as a liaison between suppliers, customers and service department personnel. Candidates must be personable, reliable, ethical, intelligent, with excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability.
Pay Range: $30/hour - $38/hour
Yealy Salary increases in the 5% range
Excellent benefits 93% paid for by the employer, plus a 401k with 3% matching
Territory: Charleston, South Carolina
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7am - 5:00pm. Lots of available over-time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities:
Travel to customer sites within a 90-100 mile radius of Charleston, South Carolina and diagnose, perform preventative maintenance, and standard repairs in a safe manner, and ensuring the aesthetic appearance of the repairs of various Diesel Engines.
- Pre-Order all Diesel Engine parts and materials required to perform assigned Diesel Engine repairs
Ensure all parts and materials not used are returned
Maintain a clean work area while performing repairs.
Communicate respectfully and honestly with customers
Complete work orders and time sheets in a timely manner
Consult with Service Department personnel to ensure the accuracy and approval of repairs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Graduate or GED and /or a minimum of two years of Diesel engine experience
- Certification/Training in Heavy Equipment and/or Diesel Engine repairs preferred
- Working knowledge of at least 2 of the following Diesel Engines; CAT, Kubota, Yanmar, DEUTZ, John Deere, Detroit Diesel, Isuzu and/or Perkins.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must possess a drivers license and a clean driving record to operate a company service vehicle.
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in using essential computer functions and portable diagnostic tools
- Tier 3-4 emissions, as well as NG/CNG experience preferred.
