We're hiring a Field Service Representative/Technician for our commercial/defense products. In this role, you will support complex Field Service activities such as on-site repair/diagnostics, new equipment training for end-users, industry partners, and other customers on operation of equipment designed and developed by Moog. You will be expected to apply extensive technical skills in areas of proficiency and demonstrate expertise at all types of military and commercial field assignments while traveling to various remote locations CONUS and OCONUS, occasionally working in potentially hazardous locations. When not in the field, you will perform on-site assembly and testing in support of Moog's Salt Lake City production operations in Utah.
This position will require up to 90% domestic and international travel ranging from a week to 6 months. Length of assignments vary depending on contract.
Here's what you'll be working on:
Support complex Field Service activities at depots, training sites, and customer locations globally
Monitor and maintain configuration management for Reconfigurable Integrated Weapons Platform (RIwP) turrets and other industry partner products
Assess and respond to product or system critical situations in a timely, professional manner
Diagnose complex technical problems, collect relevant diagnostic data, clearly communicate the issue to engineers and managers, and implement solutions
Train personnel in the operation of advanced weapon systems and other mechanical operations
Responsible for systems and components with hardware values ranging from $5K to $1.5M
Travel/deploy to CONUS and OCONUS locations with minimum notice for extended periods
Perform field installations, maintenance, repairs, retrofits, and other service-related activities at customer's facilities/field locations
Inspect and verify completed field work to ensure operational and safety integrity of serviced equipment
Assist in the definition and procurement of appropriate spares, tools, and equipment to support anticipated field servicing requirements of Moog products
Inform Engineering and Management of potential performance, service life, misuse, and safety issues based on service history and field observations/customer feedback
Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of Moog
Here's what you will need to bring with you:
High School / GED
5 or more years of related technical field experience
Skills in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, assembly, preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) and acceptance testing
Ability to read and follow engineering assembly drawings and schematics
Proficiency with multi-meters, o-scopes, power meters, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers and other test equipment preferred
Prior experience with military aircraft systems, land vehicle systems and/or advanced weapon systems to include UH-60/AH-6, Stryker/M-ATV, remote weapon stations, medium caliber weapons, hellfire, guided/unguided FFAR, experience with system integration and installation a plus
Hardware and software integration for acceptance testing and fielding
Knowledge to debug, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and other network and system problems, as related to manufacturing testing
Able to provide clear, concise, information through written and verbal communications
Ability to work autonomously or within a small diverse team
Practical working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Possess a valid US Driver License
Able to obtain a USG Secret Clearance
It would be great if you also had:
Light or Heavy armor wheel and track vehicle maintenance experience with a thorough understanding of chassis electrical/mechanical maintenance and repair. Military MOS equivalent of 63 or 91 series. Previous FSR/technician experience with LAV, Stryker, MRAP, Abrams or Bradley vehicles highly desired.
Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions in automotive systems including power train, driveline, suspension, 24VDC electrical systems and weapon systems. Experience using special tools & test equipment, manual troubleshooting procedures (MTPs), common and special tools and applicable technical documentation. Experience with creating production functional test systems
Experience with common production test equipment such as: multimeter, AC/DC power supply, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope
Experience with SDLC, Ethernet, 1553/1760, GPIB, RS232/422 interfaces
Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, R

The base pay range for this opportunity in UT is $59,820 - $98,030 annually. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual profit-sharing bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits.
