The Field Development Manager is responsible for coordinating and implementing new products into ProWood manufacturing operations in conjunction with the Category Development Managers. This role will work hand in hand with Product Development Managers from ideation through product launch. The opportunity is to expedite and streamline the PD process to ensure successful
implementation of new products into operations. This position works under general supervision; relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; and requires a wide degree of creativity and autonomy to perform the job. This position would be responsible for products under the ProWood brand.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the complete Product Development process from ideation to launch.
- Conducts regional competitive research to help identify and shape opportunities.
- Develops cost models and bill of materials and ensure appropriate information is entered into the system.
- Source contacts and build relationships with third party vendors to source and acquire materials needed to launch new products, includes packaging and labeling.
- Facilitates and controls the sample process, throughout the entire PD process, by creating and refining the proof of concept until meeting the required objectives. Also coordinates all samples needs to support a product launch.
- Responsible for ensuring product specifications are properly communicated and implemented within the operation.
- Collaborate with plant operations to establish new product SOP's and Go/No Go measurables for ongoing quality control.
- Monitors quality of products being produced to ensure they meet the product specifications, while maintaining acceptable margins.
- Leads the implementation and launch of products into full scall production.
- Assists Product Marketers on code set up for all finished and WIP codes.
- Assists Plant personnel to ensure all components are sourced in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Supports Product Marketers on plant level needs.
- Communicates changes in product specifications to the operations team.
- Assists in forecasting inventory requirements.
- Participates in Core Line Innovation teams.
- Performs other duties as required
Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline, or equivalent experience is required.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing operations; minimum 2 years of experience in a lumber/panel manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of panel and lumber grades, etc.
- Working knowledge of lumber math and business math
- Full understanding of cuts and yields • Proficiency in the use of MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel/spreadsheets is required; working knowledge of drawing/design software (AutoCAD/Solidworks/Rhino) is preferred. • Preferred experience and knowledge of UFP's organization and product lines • Experience in retail building products or construction is a plus.

Requires superior analytical, problem solving and engineering skills/aptitude. • Demonstrated ability to cross-functionally collaborate, communicate and build consensus.
- Good written communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and business-related software.
- Demonstrated ability to be mobile in the work environment, travel as required. • Ability to pass a drug test.
