About the Role:
As the Drug Field Category Manager, your primary responsibility will be developing objective, data driven, selling stories that deliver sales and margin goals within our categories for both Ferrero and the Drug class of trade. The Drug Field Category Manager is a full-time remote position, based in the U.S., reporting to the Director of Strategic Channel Field Category Management supporting the Retailer Sales Team.
The preferred locations for this position are Chicago, Illinois, Boston, Massachussetts or the New Jersey area.
Main Responsibilities:
- Partner with Sales Director and internal partners to develop data driven, objective category recommendations that meet or exceed Ferrero key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver Category growth for the retailer
- Provide strategic and tactical recommendations to retailer and Sales Director on Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising and Pricing (DSMP) to improve category performance
- Build relationships within retailer to become or strengthen strategic and trusted partner status
- Monitor and analyze category, competition and consumer market data to proactively identify business opportunities and develop actionable category plans
- Support execution against strategic initiatives and commitments at the respective accounts in each category
- Participate in and develop content for retailer annual line reviews and joint business planning sessions to enhance category growth within the Confections, Spreads and Cookie Categories
- Support seasonal efforts by providing all relevant selling materials for each of the key seasons
- Leverage all syndicated data resources, shopper insights platforms and research in support of the sales initiatives that ensure linkage with the category management plan
- Be the subject matter expert on key data tools, such as assortment, Circana/IRI, retailer loyalty data, etc.
- Drive support for new product innovation launches through commercial planning process
- Develop and maintain customer specific monthly sales reporting
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree is required
- 7+ years of Category Management experience or equivalent
- Category Space Planning experience is a plus
- Drug channel experience preferred, but not required
- Syndicated Data (Circana/Nielsen) experience is required
- Retailer Loyalty Card database (ie:, RSI, CMG) experience ideal, but not mandatory
- Interpersonal skills to interface effectively with the necessary internal and external stakeholders, building solid relationships and achieving brand sales goals
- Strategic and proactive thinking to develop category strategies and translate them into distribution, shelving, pricing and merchandising objectives
- Data analysis skills to monitor key accounts' performance in category and develop strategies to close gaps, increase sales, etc.
- Management presentation competencies to effectively present key category insights in front of internal and external stakeholders
- Strong collaborative capabilities, high integrity & ethics, and operate daily with the company's values in mind

- Position requires 20% travel
