Position Summary
Plans, coordinates, facilitates, and evaluates Life Support education and skill validation to team members, learners, physicians, to assist
in providing current knowledge and practices in American Heart Association (AHA) and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensures adult learning principles are integrated into all programs.
- Provides general and population specific education to support safe, efficient, and competent practitioners.
- Demonstrate familiarity and competency of current Learning Management System (LMS)
- Participates in specialty-specific, site-specific or corporate committees and/or educational initiatives that influence organizational
- strategic imperatives.
- Clean, decontaminate, and maintain equipment in accordance with OH and the AHA safety standards.
- Demonstrates professional accountability by involvement in multidisciplinary organizations.
- Facilitates professional development of team members through the utilization of educational curriculum.
- Assesses internal and external reported data and evaluation feedback for determination of future education opportunities that impact
- professional practice gaps and support organizational initiatives.
- Provides educational materials, curriculum, and resources to maintain ongoing knowledge and compliance with organizational policies
- and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Utilizes critical thinking and knowledge assessments to outline educational development plans for team members.
- Adheres to all American Heart Association guidelines (AHA), and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) rules, and regulations.
- Provide class rosters and records in accordance the American Heart Association (AHA) and Orlando Health guidelines.
- Identifies and support learner's Life Support needs and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Identify and validate appropriate ecards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state
- and local standards.
Qualifications
Education/Training
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification
-Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider and instructor certification.
-Maintain current ACLS and/or PALS Instructor certification (advanced courses only).
Experience
Two (2) years of relevant work experience required.
