Summary
Manages all aspects of the direct to consumer marketing function in select markets by developing/capitalizing on various direct marketing programs that drive brand awareness among the targeted spirits RTD consuming demographic and positively impacts case distribution volume for an assigned geographic area. Works with event sourcing agencies to identify, plan, and oversee the execution of brand sponsored events, product demonstrations, and charitable opportunities that are in line with the brand’s vision. Partners with Spirits BU brand marketing, sales leadership team, and distributor sales teams; helping them leverage events where the Fishers Island Lemonade brand is featured and turning it into an opportunity for increased case sales in key markets of CT, NY, NJ, and NY.
Essential Functions:
- Oversees direct-to consumer programs in Core markets of CT, NY, and NJ.
- Manages direct consumer marketing opportunities in the assigned geographic area; works with 3rd party agencies to identify local event sponsorship/participation opportunities.
- Interacts with and samples thousands of consumers annually and creating pre-sold loyalists all across the country.
- Identifies and establishes a good standing relationship with top 20-25 retail accounts in each market, where they will become the point of contact for account needs.
- Oversees events opportunities and executes 35-40 events per year to promote the brand vision.
- Develops the brand communication strategy for geographic area of responsibility; represents the brand at events, demos and in the media.
- Manages the event execution process by seeking out sponsorships, marketing/promoting the event, maintaining a high-profile presence at the event, and partners with local sales team members to leverage resulting marketing/good-will into increased case sale volume.
- Uses assigned budget to sponsor local for profit and charity events; obtains/distributes Fishersbranded marketing items and make donations to local charities in the name of the brand.
- Partners with local retailers and distributors to set-up product demos in area stores; works with 3rd party employment agencies to obtain temporary staff to execute the demo (150-250 demos for CT, NY, NJ)
- Conducts the training of temporary product demo staff ensuring that they are educated on brand history, can speak to potential customers about Fishers, and are knowledgeable and compliant surrounding beverage consumption laws.
- Oversees the management and execution of local brand sponsored events; works with event promoters develop/finalize event contracts which describe the responsibilities of the parties.
- Works with event promoters to market the event through all available channels (local media, press, etc.).
- Develops innovative POS “Link & Leverage” opportunities by partnering with forward deployed commerce marketing or independent suppliers to drive brand awareness in the market.
- Manages the training and education of distributor personnel on Fishers Island Lemonade brand, new products, local events, local demos, selling, brand updates, brand facts, GSMs etc.
- Supports Gallo sales teams with selling signed brands to distributors.
- Participates and facilitates “crew dives” with Gallo sales and distributor sales personnel to increase product knowledge among retailers and consumers.
- Partners with Gallo sales personnel to present brand information and sales initiatives to distributor leadership.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness and ownership of managing territory and accounts.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of Gallo or partner distributor sales, marketing, hospitality, or public relations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of CPG sales or marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of Gallo or partner distributor sales, marketing, hospitality or public relations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
- Valid driver’s license. Required to obtain an appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Required to travel up to 50% of the time in order to conduct job duties.
- Required to travel by air, car, and or train in the course of business.
- Required to lift and move product weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Required to be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Required to employ an alternative work schedule to include weekends and evenings.
- Required to obtain a liquor license as required by state/locally .
- Experience managing a budget.
- Experience partnering with agencies and vendors to execute events.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of Gallo or partner distributor sales or marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience in the Spirits or Beer industry.
- Experience executing with event activations.
- Gallo Winery or Gallo partner distributor sales district manager experience.
- Gallo distributor experience during the holiday selling season.
- Experience selling or marketing to a target demographic.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong problem solving and motivational skills.
- Experience executing duties as part of a team.
- Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Results oriented skills with sales background managing strong relationships with key accounts
- Demonstrates successful ability to manage event opportunities and execute owning a events budget
- Skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Skilled in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Experience with solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Experience with interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Compensation
- Hiring Salary Range: $73,700 - $110,500/Year.
- Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
