Gulf Coast Academy, a Florida public charter middle school leads small groups of students out into the
community for field experiences during every regular school day throughout
the entire school year.
These trips relate to the core curriculum being taught, encourage physical
education, team building, cooperation, artistic endeavors, and character
education.
This is an intense, demanding job that requires physical and physiological
stamina, outstanding organization, technological savvy, extreme
initiative, and a nice-sized helping of common sense.
Many of the activities have a science focus and are integrated with the
core classes (language arts, science, mathematics, technology, social
studies). Therefore we desire applicants that have education beyond high school.
Qualifications:
Must be enthusiastic and
demonstrate excellent speaking/ presentation ability with the ability to
establish a rapport with students aged 11 - 15. Flexibility, a good sense
of humor, passion for learning, and a willingness to work long, hard hours
are essential. Summer camp counselor experience is definitely a plus! We
will provide the training necessary for you to obtain certifications in
First Aid, CPR, Lifeguarding, & Florida Safe Boating as well as make the
arrangements and pay for you to obtain a school bus operator CDL-Class B
license. Must be 21 years of age or older in order to earn CDL.
