We have partnered with UNIDOSUS for their Latinx in Finance (LIF) training program to assist individuals with careers in the finance or banking industry. Throughout the year, we host multiple cohorts of 10-20 participants over an 8 week period, in a virtual or in person classroom setting. During each cohort, we assist them with career development and employment skills training with a focus on the finance and banking industry. Our graduates are prepared to obtain employment in the field after completing their training and have the opportunity to meet with industry professionals as well as a career counselor to assist them in obtaining meaningful employment during and/or after course completion.
The role and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Outreach and Marketing
- Help with the creation of new marketing materials as needed
- Distribute flyers with information regarding our training to local businesses (Universities, Career Sources, Job Fairs, Cafes, etc.)
- Attend Job Fairs and other community events to share program information
- Post one social media post per week or as requested by Program Manager
- Assist with graduation and event planning
Registration
- Review Indeed job posting and other referral sources and Reach out to potential participants
- Assist with Registration Process and information collection
- Be the first point of contact for LIF participants
- Explain the program expectations, requirements, and ensure participants meet qualifications for the program
- Administer background checks and other registration assessments to program participants prior to class start date as needed
Administrative:
- Assist with communication to participants throughout registration process, during the cohort, and post-graduation
- Gather and record grant data in Google Sheets for tracking monthly
- Check Latinx in Finance email daily and respond to emails
- Distribute or Mail laptops, certificates, and other materials to graduates
- Print Materials as needed
- Answer incoming calls and conduct outgoing calls to participants, potential participants, and community members
- Attend weekly meetings with LIF Team
Classroom Instruction (Virtual)
- Prepare content, communicate with guest speakers, and test technology prior to class
- Use curriculum to teach participants through a virtual setting and engage with participants through group and individual activities.
- Facilitate discussions based on session’s topic and encourage active participation.
- Take attendance and report absences to Program Manager
Requirements and/or Preferences:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Google Classroom and/or Online Instruction experience preferred.
- Banking or financial experience is preferred
This position will be part-time, virtually and in-person, between 10-20 hours per week with the possibility of assisting in other areas of the organization. Most hours will be spent working in the afternoons and evenings.
Independent Contractor
Pay: $23/hour
Program Assistant Hours - 10 - 15 hours a week
Teaching Hours - TTH 5:30-8:00 (as needed)
