ResponsibilitiesThe Storytelling Program Assistant provides administrative and operational support for student programs related to storytelling, including story exchanges, Storytelling for Community-building activities, TEDxFSU, and related podcasts. Manages the center's studio space, recording and media equipment, and requests for each. May supervise student employees, including studio or storytelling assistants.
Reporting to the Marketing Manager for the Center for Leadership & Service, the Storytelling Program Assistant’s primary responsibilities will include the following:
- Provides administrative and operational support to student programming related to storytelling, including but not limited to story exchanges, TEDxFSU, community building activities, and community narratives.
- Manages the center's studio space, including reservation requests and equipment
- Supervises student staff, including storytelling and studio assistants.
- Coordinates schedules, assignments, and training as needed.
- Maintains positive working partnerships and collaborations with programming staff in other university departments, along with other duties as assigned.
- A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
- Valid Florida or Georgia driver's license obtained prior to hire.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience mentoring, advising, or supervising students
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with equipment or resource management
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop and/or manage effective operational and logistical processes
- Knowledge of effective principles and practices related to storytelling and A/V production
The successful candidate will possess experience with storytelling strategies and methods. Candidates should desire to work with diverse media and programming teams of staff and students with varied specialties, all of whom contribute to the promotion of the center’s mission, vision, people, and programs. They should look forward to engaging creatively with students and staff while also maintaining or implementing successful operational strategies.
