GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
You're an accomplished, seasoned accountant and a great supervisor. But you need a change... a new challenge. Boy, do we have a deal for you! We need a manager in our Reconciliation and Audit unit. All of your skills will be put to the test, and you will have a key role in accounting for and support of our state's investments, now numbering $24 billion. We know this genre of accounting does not come naturally, but between your experience and our training, we know you can become a successful, contributing member of our team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
- Manage and direct the workflow of six (6) accountants, including performance appraisals.
- Assist the Chief Financial Officer in the investment accounting system design, implementation, and maintenance to ensure the integrity of the agency's fiscal information.
- Oversee the preparation of all investment accounting reports of internal and external investment managers, investment manager set-up, and asset allocation reports.
- Coordinate recognition of investment income with all investment managers. Work closely with investment managers regarding reporting. Provide cost balances, fees, and manager transactions to investment consultants.
- Responsible for coordinating and preparing Treasurer's Office reports for the ACFR and annual external audit. Responsible for the accuracy of information provided for the audit.
- Contribute to the completion of the Treasurer's Annual Report. Review legislation for relevance to the Treasurer's Office.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and GASB.
PREFERENCES:
Preference will be given to an individual with strong accounting and auditing skills, finance, investment markets and banking experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Expertise in governmental accounting and auditing principles.
- Knowledge of investment markets (ie. fixed income, equities, hedge funds, etc.).
- Proficiency in PC software applications.
- Skill in written and oral communication.
- Ability to interpret and apply statutory requirements.
- Analytical evaluation; demonstrated attention to detail.
- Skill in decision-making and problem solving, especially under time constraints.
- Personnel development.
- Supervisory experience, including performance evaluation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- General office conditions include minimal lifting; some travel may be necessary.
