About the Position
The Festival Lounge Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and managing the Festival Lounge for the Seattle International Film Festival. The Festival Lounge provides space for SIFF passholders, guests, sponsors, and filmmakers to connect as a community during the festival. The Festival Lounge Manager will ensure that the Festival Lounge’s design and management consistently reflects this focus.

PRIMARY SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Festival Lounge Assistant
● Lounge Volunteers
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
● Collaborates with Operations, Programming, Philanthropy, and Partnerships departments on all Lounge planning and programming.
● Procure and complete all vendor contracts and permitting for Festival Lounge.
● Create all venue information documents for the venue, including floor plans, event orders, emergency procedures, etc.
● Oversee load-in and load-out of vendors, caterers, etc., before, during, and after festival.
● Work with the Partnerships and Events department to procure food and beverage.
● Execute onsite activations and programming events such as panels, happy hours, parties, etc., with the support of SIFF festival staff.
● Work with Partnerships department to successfully fulfill sponsorship contracts and obligations onsite via product placement, signage, activations, etc.
● Ensure all Lounge Operations are within compliance with all applicable codes and laws, including local liquor laws.
● Update and maintain Festival Lounge Events schedule for internal use.
● Manage and schedule Festival Lounge Assistant within planned budget.
● Within SIFF Volunteer Department program, schedule, train, and manage Lounge volunteers.
● With Events and Production departments, track inventory of all food, beverages, and other products.
● Track all expenses and receipts for Festival Lounge, providing complete record at the at regular intervals during the contract, as well as at the end of the Festival.
● Support other festival hospitality spaces, as assigned.
● Complete wrap report by scheduled due date.
● Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
● One to two years experience in events, festival production, or venue management is required
● One to two years experience managing staff and/or volunteers required
● One to two years hospitality experience required
● Knowledge of Google Suite (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc) preferred
● Must be at least 21 years of age by date of hire.
● Ability to lift 50lbs, with frequent walking and standing throughout daily tasks
DESIRED
● Experience in WA liquor service regulations and law
● Experience producing or hosting public event spaces
● Self motivated, willingness to work with others and be a team player.
● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and problem solve.
● Excellent delegation skills when working with both staff & volunteers.
● Ability to work well in high stress situations
● Ability to work with diverse personalities.
● This is a temporary full-time, hourly position
● This is an FLSA overtime nonexempt position (Overtime rates are 1.5x hourly rate)
● Employees have access to discounts and passes to year-round and Festival programming
● This position is not eligible for health or other benefits
Work Environment: This temporary position will work onsite at our Seattle office and specified theater/s.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to interact with patrons and coworkers, sit and stand for extended periods, physically assist patrons when needed, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
