The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of store operations to ensure alignment with Company standards and expectations.

  • This role involves evaluating all aspects of store performance, with a primary focus on people, customer service, store contribution, and adherence to shrink reduction initiatives.
  • The Store Manager will lead, guide, and support store teams to achieve district sales and profit goals while prioritizing exceptional customer service.
  • Additionally, this role is responsible for the recruitment, training, and development of store management teams.
  • As a Store Manager for Vapor Lounge you own all aspects of your assigned stores performance, as well as at all times act as an ambassador of Vapor Lounge.
  • As a Store Manager, you will be expected to Lead with the utmost integrity and honesty.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Exceptional Team Building:

- Recruit and select highly talented individuals and develop succession plans to support the company's growth objectives.

- Collaborate with peers to establish a company-wide talent pool of qualified individuals ready for their next step.

- Ensure consistent application of performance management practices, including performance appraisals, counseling, and development plans.

- Maintain compliance with company HR policies and procedures.

- Address employee relations issues in partnership with your District Manager and Human Resources.

- Prioritize safety by upholding company safety policies and ensuring the well-being of associates and customers.

 

2. Exemplary Customer Service:

- Act as the primary point of contact for addressing customer service issues within assigned store.

- Respond promptly and effectively to all customer inquiries.

- Ensure a high level of customer service excellence is achieved consistently and daily.

 

3. Financial Responsibility:

- Manage and continually monitor actual expenditures to stay within budgetary constraints.

- Control payroll hours to align with the budget while adjusting to changing business trends.

- Create and maintain a safe, accident-free environment for customers and associates by adhering to state, local, and federal regulations.

 

4. Merchandising and Inventory:

- Champion loss prevention initiatives and awareness programs.

- Meet company shrink reduction goals.

- Oversee proper merchandising presentation and organization in accordance with the company's guidelines and processes.

- Identify and escalate inventory discrepancies as needed.

- Serve as the bridge between your location and HQ, facilitating the championing of new ideas and processes to drive continuous improvement at Vapor Lounge.

 

Qualities and Competencies:

- Effective in managing work processes and aligning them with business goals.

- Demonstrates strong business acumen.

- Must have the ability to effectively conduct in-person as well as virtual meetings

- Skilled in planning, prioritizing, and aligning resources effectively.

- Capable of building and nurturing talent within the organization.

- Collaborative and works effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Leads by example and communicates clearly and effectively.

- Ensures accountability and executes plans efficiently.

 

Qualifications and Special Skills:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to adapt quickly in an ambiguous environment and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.

- High School Degree or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

- 3 or more years of retail management or operations experience.

- Valid Driver's License required.

- Frequent travel required.

 

Physical Requirements:

- Involves sitting, standing, walking, hearing, and speaking on the telephone, as well as attending in-person meetings and working with paperwork and files.

- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.

- Vision requirements include the ability to see information in print and electronically.

- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.

- Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, carrying, reaching, and stooping.

- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

- Frequent travel required.
