Job Summary
The West Community Student Engagement Program (WCSE) is designed to engage University of West Georgia (UWG) Federal Work Study (FWS) students in improving quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to address issues such as literacy, social services, housing, neighborhood improvement, public safety, recreation, at-risk youth and community improvement. This particular position will be assisting at the Bremen Food and Clothing Bank. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain client database by entering new client information and updating current client information
- Transfer information between two different databases
- Maintain filing system by correctly filing hard copy of client applications alphabetically
- Sort and prepare items for distribution
- Load food carts for distribution
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at UWG with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Must be computer savvy
- Ability to type 35 wpm
- Attention to detail
- Must have availability to work on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
- Must be eligible for the Federal Work Study program
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work well with others of various ages and backgrounds
- Ability to communicate well with the public
Physical Requirements
- The position involves a combination of office work and warehouse work.
- You should be able to lift about 10 lbs when helping to sort Food and nonfood pallets.
