We are an award-winning sustainable flower farm going into our ninth production year growing magnificent flowers in the beautiful historic Hudson Valley, New York. We grow gorgeous dahlias - over 100 varieties- peonies, and other rare plants. Additionally, we are in the process of creating acres of sustainable native habitats for native plants and fauna.
This is not a typical job environment. At Bear Creek Farm, everyone's job is diverse and ever-changing because we are growing, but we work together as a strong team to learn, reach big goals and nurture beauty through flowers. We are seeking someone who is positive, motivated, energetic, and ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work. We take great pride in the quality of our product and every task requires precision and attention to detail.

We're looking for friendly, motivated sales associates for one to three days per week to interact with our flower customers and admirers. The ideal candidate has a high-level knowledge of hospitality, is exceptionally personable and outgoing, and can paint a picture of how flowers enhance people's lives.
This job is currently seasonal to the production of our flowers, starting May and running through October. Days of the week are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Manhattan. Three days a week are at Union Square and one day a week is near Lincoln Center. There will likely be a short break in the month of July as we await season turnover of flowers and new flowers to bloom.
Qualifications:
- A strong interest in gardening and our environment
- Willingness to work outside during various weather conditions
- Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in with any task to have a successful day
- Be comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Have the desire to learn information about dahlias and be passionate about them
- Essential to have a strong customer focus and enjoy speaking with people and making friends
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Must have good dexterity skills
- Ability to be on your feet up to 6 hours
- Capable of multi-tasking
Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain the market display, including tent, buckets, and signage
- Enthusiastically promote our flowers and sell them
- Handle cash transactions and taking inventory of product
- Make the customer buying experience easy and enjoyable
- Breakdown of the market display
