POSITION DETAILS

JOB PURPOSE

Individuals must be responsible, dependent, team orientated, motivated, follow protocols & procedures, and willing to think outside the box.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Check all calves on a timely basis (three to four times per day) to be certain they are receiving the adequate feed. Be certain clean water is available at all times.
• Feed calves in a timely manner as outlined by dairy protocols
• Monitor calf health and identify sick animals.
• Bed, clean, care for the animals according to protocols.
• Perform treatments for sick calves.
• Perform routine calf vaccinations.
• Monitor cow calvings and assist if needed.
• Care for newborn calves and fresh cows according to protocols.
• Assist with other duties for the good of Team Members and the business

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Must be able to work independently, but still be in communication with herd manager, veterinarian, nutritionist and other Team Members.
