The Family Support Training Program Manager focuses on developing and delivering training related to obtaining authorization and best practices in Family Support.
Training Development Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and update all Family Support onboarding materials
- Create, maintain, and update all Family Support core competency materials
- Monitor onboarding progress of Family Support team members and provide regular reports of progress to the individual’s manager
- In collaboration with FS Manager, lead individual coaching and development plans related to family conversations with individual Family Support team members
- Schedule and facilitate team case reviews
- Onsite authorization coaching and support for new and existing FS and procurement staff for key elements of Family Support.
- Registry opposition escalation support, onsite and by phone, as needed
- Regular data review and analysis to identify opportunities for training and drive improved outcomes
- Oversee, develop, and participate in annual Compassionate Family Conversation (CFC) training.
- Provide on-going feedback and follow-up to employees related to Family Support
- Provide didactic and experiential training to new and existing employees who are responsible for family conversations
- In collaboration with FS Manager, create and maintain schedule for onboarding new Family Support employees
- Collaboration with LifeCenter Northwest Training and Development team and Family Support Manager(s) to create and modify training courses for new and existing employees
- Partner, as needed, with other department leader to ensure Family Support messaging is consistent in all hospital interactions.
- Assists the Family Support Manager, as requested, in the planning and execution of team meetings, professional development opportunities for the team, supporting the team through change, and creating a strong team culture
Department Support and Education
- Family Support Administrator On-Call (FS AOC) shifts (2-4/month)
- Maintains an awareness of case activity
- Serves as Family Support resource for Organ Donation Services, Hospital Development Department, donor hospitals, and donation partners, including providing education and training when able.
- Maintains current knowledge of the donation and transplantation industry.
- Crisis intervention skills and a demonstrated ability to discern between grief issues and other life issues that merit referral to other resources.
- This individual must demonstrate operating knowledge of computers with a demonstrable, basic level skill (at a minimum) with Outlook, Word, Excel, and other comparable software programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
- This position will primarily work during LifeCenter business hours. There may be an occasional need to work outside regular business hours for travel, case activity, or scheduled on-call shifts.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited college or university.
- A Master’s degree in Human Services, Chaplaincy, Counseling, Psychology or Social Work with a minimum of two years’ experience preferred.
- 4 years’ experience at an OPO is strongly preferred.
- Relevant work experience can be considered as a substitution for academic requirements.
- Requires a valid driver’s license and access to an insured automobile or the ability to arrive and depart from work- and work-related functions at expected times.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster, or applicable medical or religious exemption will be required as a condition of employment upon offer. For those that need to complete the vaccination series, start dates will be adjusted.

The pay range for this role is $82,449 - $119,584. Where a candidate’s compensation falls within this range is based on several bona fide factors such as experience, tenure, and other specialized knowledge.
