We have a wonderful opportunity for a Supervisor Family Peer Advocate at our Lakewood, NY location.
This is a full time position (40 hours per week) Monday to Friday with a flexible schedule. Occasional evenings and Saturdays.
Under supervision and direction of the director or program manager, the individual in this position is responsible for the quality of services to clients and the performance of the direct care staff in a community based program and/or. The Supervisor Family Advocate coaches, trains and supports direct care staff in order to meet the needs of families. The Supervisor is responsible for the efficiency of the day to day operations including scheduling staff, hiring, training, regulatory compliance (OCFS, COA, CMS, etc.,), and safety of youth, adults, families and staff. The Supervisor - performs direct care staff functions as required. The Supervisor supports Hillside’s Philosophy of Care and works to remove systemic barriers to ensure its implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in interviewing, hiring, evaluating, training, providing supervision and quality services, and monitoring direct care staff performance according to Hillside’s policy and guidelines to include hiring, termination, performance evaluation and management, employee development, employee discipline/corrective action and employee compensation.
- Provides case and staff supervision, consultation, education, and direct observation and provision of service delivery to achieve program objectives.
- Responsible for supervision, mentoring and support of all direct staff, Family Peer and Youth Peer Advocates.
- Ensure that the team meets on a regular basis and are knowledgeable in services, supporting staff’s professional development and adhering to agency and funder regulations.
- Assists with program task as needed such as but not limited to reporting and performance oversight.
- Maintains a work environment that provides maximum support for well-being.
- Ensure staff deliver comprehensive family driven, youth guided, trauma informed services.
- Maintains and ensures all necessary records, forms, reports and summaries in client files to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Funder and Hillside standards.
LEADERSHIP DUTIES
· Leadership: Communicates supports and links Hillside mission, vision, values, goals, and strategies to everyday work and establishes clear, meaningful, challenging, and attainable objectives and
expectations that are aligned with those of the organization
· Human Resources: Is responsible for the administration of Human Resource related functions for assigned staff according to Hillside policy and guidelines to include hiring, termination,
performance evaluation and management, employee development, employee discipline and
corrective action and employee compensation
· Management: Aligns the right work with the right people; delegates tasks according to people’s strengths and interests. Ensures staff has the skills and resources to be successful. Provide staff with coaching, training and opportunities for growth to improve their skills. Treats staff fairly and consistently. Shares accountability when delegating and involves staff in setting their performance goals.
· Governance: Ensures Hillside policies, procedures and all applicable governmental
laws/regulations/guidelines are followed. Makes decisions and has authority to implement
decisions in conjunction with the leadership structure of the given area of responsibility
Education: HS/GED or Bachelors’ with a minimum of three years’ experience providing FPSS, at least one year of which is as a credentialed FPA or a qualified behavioral health staff person with “Lived experience” trained in peer services and Peer Advocate discipline.
Requirements: Lived experience based on program and funder requirements
“Lived Experience” as a parent/caregiver of a child with a social, emotional, developmental, medical, substance use, and/or behavioral challenges; experience in navigating child serving systems to obtain services and resources for their child/family.
NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record to meet agency standards is required.

$22.01 Minimum Rate per hour, $33.01 Maximum Rate per hour, based on experience.
