Department/School Summary:
Fresno Pacific University invites applications for a nursing educator and leader to support our service to the community. Our current programs include an MSN program with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) focus and a baccalaureate BSN program. The ideal candidate will bring administrative, clinical, and academic experience to support both the MSN-FNP program and development of the university's baccalaureate BSN program toward an end goal of providing Christ-centered service to the community.

Role:
Leadership and administration of all aspects of Nursing programs
  1. Provides positive leadership, promoting both employee competence, morale, and retention
  2. Provides leadership in supporting program directors in both internal assessment and in meeting external accreditation standards
  3. Supports program directors in communicating with the California BRN as necessary regarding program status and changes
  4. Represents the nursing unit at meetings of accreditation and regulatory bodies
  5. Develops and maintains information supporting annual budget planning
  6. Provides oversight of maintenance of records relevant to nursing programs
  7. Facilitates professional development for Faculty in teaching preparation, nursing theory and practice, and in faith and liberal arts integration
Curriculum
  1. Facilitates textbook selection and ordering across programs
  2. Serves as ATI liaison
  3. Recommends purchases of supplies and equipment to support the curriculum
  4. Supports the nursing lab manager in ensure labs meet standards and are maintained
Faculty
  1. Develops faculty load schedules for each academic year
  2. Facilitates conflict resolution effectively
  3. Provides input on hiring of all nursing faculty
  4. Oversees (directly or indirectly) orientation and onboarding of all nursing faculty

  • Teaches in the MSN and/or BSN programs as time permits
  • Develops and maintains community relationships both with internal and external constituents.
  • Maintains professional memberships and professional development
  • Maintains and/or develop, as needed, curriculum in area of expertise.
  • Pursues an active scholarly agenda (tenure-track only).

Qualifications
Required:
  • Doctoral degree (doctoral candidates will be considered; completion of a terminal degree is a requisite for continued employment)
  • Commitment to the Christian faith and the University's mission of Christ-centered teaching and learning and involvement in a local church
  • Ability to acquire a clear (unrestricted and unencumbered) and active California Registered Nurse license
  • Ability to promote a collegial environment in work with students, staff, and faculty

Preferred:
  • A clear (unrestricted and unencumbered) and active California Registered Nurse license
  • At least one clinical specialization (medical-surgical, critical care, OB/Women's Health, Pediatric, Geriatric, or Psychiatric Mental Health)
  • Evidence of effective academic, administrative leadership within a BSN, RN-to-BSN, and/or MSN program.
  • Evidence of teaching experience and experience in curriculum development
  • Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching at a collegiate level.
  • Record or promise of scholarly achievement (tenure-track).
  • Experience with licensing (California BRN) and/or program accreditation via CCNE
  • Experience as a California BRN-approved program director or as a California BRN-approved assistant program director
