Job Summary:
The Facility Tech will be responsible for managing the procurement, oversight and management of equipment required for the company's operations, planning and setup of new plant / production line. This will include sourcing suppliers, assist in contract negotiation, and ensuring that equipment (spare parts) / installation project is delivered on time and meet budget requirements. This position will also be responsible for coordinating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure the successful setup, developing and implementing procurement strategies to ensure that the company has access to the latest and most advanced equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support equipment procurement strategies in line with the company's overall objectives.
- Collaborate with suppliers and engineering teams to develop equipment installation and commissioning plans to ensure smooth installation and commissioning work; ensure quality control and quality assurance during equipment installation and commissioning.
- Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities to supply equipment / installation to the company.
- Identify the need, research options, obtain quotes, negotiate contracts, and oversee the delivery and installation process of all equipment (spare parts / Maintenance).
- Assist in contact negotiation with vendors and suppliers to ensure that equipment is purchased at competitive prices and that repairs and maintenance are done in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other departments to plan and design new plant facilities, including selecting and sourcing new equipment / services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure that the company receives high-quality equipment and services.
- Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action where necessary.
- Assist compliance with procurement policies and procedures, as well as relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement an equipment maintenance plan to ensure that all equipment is in good working condition.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Monitor equipment usage to identify potential problems and recommend repairs or replacement, as necessary.
- Ensuring that all equipment is properly documented and accounted for.
- Develop and maintain an equipment (tool / spare parts) inventory system to track the condition and usage of all equipment.
- Ensure that all equipment meets safety and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and manage facilities/equipment budgets, ensuring that expenditures are within budgetary constraints.
- Assist and implement policies and procedures related to equipment management and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- College diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and procedures.
- Be able to read component drawings (electrical and mechanical prints). be able to make sketches of circuitry for troubleshooting.
- Fresh graduate of science and engineering is acceptable.
