In this role, the FSO will support facility and personnel clearance processing and management, visit certifications, and security education and training. The FSO will need a thorough understanding of security databases such as DISS, eApp, NISS, NBIS, ACCS , SWFT, and Scattered Castles. In addition, they will be responsible for implementing and providing guidance to customers and management on security issues such as security education, insider threat, security investigations, and personnel clearances. The FSO will also serve as the Insider Threat Senior Official. This is a part-time, fully remote position and will require approximately ~5 hours/week of support.
- Maintain personal training and certifications
- Train and orient employees in security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government and customer regulations
- Provide briefing and debriefing to employees holding clearances, and regular re-briefing of employees on foreign travel
- Securely maintain personnel security records
- Ensure compliance with 32CFR Part 117- NISPOM and all security protocols required by customers or contracts and keep abreast of ever-changing industrial security regulations
- Process and submit client SCI nomination packages using the form 4311, ACCS, and other client forms/systems
- Maintain successful working relationships with government agencies and security offices of current customers
- Responsible for successful preparation completion of annual inspections to ensure government compliance
- Responsible for all transactional aspects of security including clearance processing, completion of SF86 and e-QIP, NBIS, fingerprinting, DISS management, DD254, etc.
- Collaborate and consult with the Contracts Department to ensure compliance with all prime and subcontractors security requirements, including the completion and tracking of all DD254s
- Conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments, and implement security measures to meet requirements
Requirements:
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance
- FSO Certification
- 5+ years of experience as a security professional with at least 3 years as an FSO or CSSO supporting Department of Defense or Intelligence Community programs
- Thorough knowledge of the government clearance process and of e-Qip, NISS, SWFT, ACCS, NBIS, eApp, DISS, and Scattered Castles required
- Demonstrated knowledge and functional understanding of the 32CFR Part 117- NISPOM and ability to administer it
- Experience working with Form 4311
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
