We have an exciting opportunity for a Facility Engineer to join our team with the Science & Exploration Division.
The Facility Engineer will:
- Be responsible for design, development, test, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. Perform engineering design evaluations. May develop a range of products to support design and manufacturing of parts and hardware to support ARES research, curatorial, and exploration projects.
- Utilize electrical engineering background to develop requirements for facility infrastructure for new labs and new lab equipment.
- Be creative and innovative in the pursuit of solutions.
- Coordinate work requirements with subcontractors and external agencies.
- Apply internal policies and external code requirements (OSHA, ASME, ISO, NFPA, etc.) to system design and maintenance
- Perform other duties as required
Requisition Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Experience with uninterruptible power supplies, power distribution units, power pass distribution modules, and computer/electrical interfaces.
- Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and practices.
- Background in facilities engineering and building utility systems.
Requisition Preferences:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering school.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related engineering experience
- Electrical engineering background to review drawings for infrastructure projects to support buildings and labs including HVAC and electrical systems.

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
