Facilities Utility Technicians work within a facility management organization that provide a variety of operation and maintenance services within a 24/7/365 environment including non-critical data environments and commercial office space. The Facilities Utility Technician is responsible for performing janitorial cleaning, equipment cleaning, and other general maintenance tasks. This position does not require any trade specific license or training.Job Description
Primary Role
- Routine janitorial services - trash removal, restroom cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping/mopping, dusting electrical equipment, ordering materials
Secondary Role -
- General maintenance tasks such as - filter maintenance/cleaning, installing foam board, pressure washing, and event setup/support
- Landscaping duties to include applying herbicide/pesticides/fertilizer, sweeping sidewalks and roads,
Training & Education Requirements:
- High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years of janitorial and maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial environment desired
- Must have flexibility to work overtime and work on an on-call basis, as may be dictated by the needs of the business
- Have experience in the use of scissor lifts and not afraid of heights.
- Ability use/navigate personal computers and smartphone/tablets to complete basic business functions
- Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, management, and client representatives
- Must possess a valid state driver's license
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening
Physical Demands:

- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to dust, both hot and cold environments, and loud noises
- Must have ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to read and understand information presented orally and in writing
