Job Summary:Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring all Mazzoni Center Properties are Well Maintained, Safe & Secure. Facility Manager is responsible for managing all facility & maintenance related contracts, vendor relations as well as all related tasks. Responsible for Managing Operations & Facilities Teams.
Communication: Good oral and written communication skills are required for this position. The person in this position must be able to communicate with the clients, staff, and others; and contribute to a positive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Mazzoni Center properties at 1348 Bainbridge Street and 1201 Locust Street are well-maintained, safe, and secure.
- Manage contracts with external vendors (including but not limited to: security, cleaning services, and waste removal contractors, exterminators, and other vendors who provide maintenance and operations services to Mazzoni Center) and ensure their performance is consistent with their respective contracts.
- Work directly with external vendors and internal finance department to ensure timely payment is made and supporting documents are submitted for goods and services pertaining to facilities needs
- Ensure facility is compliant with all standards and guidelines set by Mazzoni Center Compliance team as well as Mazzoni Center Management, including but not limited to: inspecting AED devices and fire extinguishers to ensure they are in working order and being regularly checked by external companies; inspecting Narcan dispensers to ensure they are not expired; ensuring proper signage is in place throughout the building; removing any items blocking entrances or walking areas; working with compliance and operations teams in relation to Fire Pump testing and coordinating Fire Drills.
- Perform regular walk throughs /inspect the facility and perform necessary tasks to ensure it is up to code.
- On a daily basis, inspect exterior of the building for debris and vandalism. Clean up debris and remediate vandalism as needed.
- Supervise, Support & Mentor Facility assistant and help as needed.
- Supervise, Support & Mentor Operations Team.
- Address daily minor repairs.
- Coordinate major repairs with outside contractors as necessary.
- Order and manage inventory of building supplies.
- Monitor utility consumption.
- Schedule routine maintenance and safety inspections of the building equipment and systems.
- Maintain records of repairs and warranties.
- Assist with preparation and cleanup of common areas for meeting and/or events (e.g. assist with set up and break down of chairs and tables and assist with clean up and trash removal as needed).
- Assist with maintaining the Deck, Maintaining Plants and other decorative items.
- Assist with moving desks, chairs, and other basic office furniture as needed.
- Assist with snow removal as needed.
- Assist Director of IT, Operations & facilities with any other projects / tasks as needed.
- Education, Training, License and Certification, Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as Facilities Manager or relevant position
- Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Good analytical/critical thinking and attention to detail
- High School graduate or GED
- Well organized and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of building construction, electrical, plumbing, and heating systems preferred
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to work in a diverse and progressive environment
Clearances
- Background checks are required, including Criminal Background Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Clearance.

1. The ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
2. The ability to lift objects greater than 20 pounds, with occasional lifting of 50 lbs or heavier;
3. The ability to stoop, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, push, and perform other physical/manual labor activities.
4. Must be able to climb and work on ladders up to 10’-12’
5. Able to work a flexible schedule which may include early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends
6. The ability to communicate using written and spoken words
7. Must demonstrate visual and auditory acuity
8. Must have all necessary vaccinations
