Reporting to the Site Manager, Scrap Metal Services is looking for a Facilities Maintenance employee to manage general facility maintenance at two of our facilities; located in East Chicago, IN and Blue Island, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Performs general facility cleaning
- Collects and disposes of all litter, trash and debris on grounds, buildings and parking lots
- Monitor all facility bathrooms to ensure cleanliness throughout the day
- Monitor supply levels of products needed to perform janitorial tasks
- Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations
- Replacing lightbulbs and other light electrical work
- Light Plumbing (sinks, toilets, etc)
- Landscaping (mowing, trimming, leaf collection)
- Digs, sweeps, shovels, and pressure washes, as needed
- Makes repairs/paint to interior walls, tile, carpet and coverings made of various materials
- Workday is fast paced, some evening work may be required
- Five (5) years of general Facilities Maintenance experience required.
- Ability to read and understand verbal and written directions.
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, and be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Commitment to working safely and to standards required.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, team orientated, work with minimum supervision and lead by example.
