The director will oversee all management and budgetary duties for the Plant Operations, grounds, biomed, EVS, Laundry, and Security/Emergency Management departments.

JOB SUMMARY
The Hospital Facilities Director is responsible for the planning, development, and management of all aspects related to the physical infrastructure, safety, and maintenance of hospital campus. This includes overseeing facility projects, managing maintenance teams, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and optimizing operational efficiency. This position is responsible for all management and budgetary duties for the Plant Operations, grounds, biomed, EVS, Laundry, and Security/Emergency Management departments. Reports to Chief Executive Officer. Exempt position.
Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Hospital CEO regarding the physical and structural conditions of hospital facilities and the status of work in progress.
- Completes strategic plan for UMH campus facilities, projects planned and in progress, and implementation of software or technology to increase operational efficiency.
- Responsible for facility maintenance, including work order completion and compliance for all hospital building structures.
- Ensures CMS and TJC compliance for all Environment of Care, Interim Life Safety, and Emergency Management standards.
- Directs project management for all construction, renovation and expansion projects. Collaborates with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project timelines and budget are met.
- Ensures emergency preparedness initiatives and trainings are completed and facility and employees are ready in the event of an emergency.
- Reviews contracts and vendors to ensure compliance, as well as outsourced projects are minimized, and internal resources are fully utilized.
- Implements and manages technology to streamline operations, improve efficiency, productivity, budget management, and provides reporting for compliance and trends.
- Oversees management of all direct reports and their employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in facilities management required, in a healthcare setting preferred. Plant operations, construction or related field required; healthcare experience preferred.
- Must have strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and compliance standards, such as CMS and Joint Commission, and Interim Life Safety.
- Previous experience with large project management and excellent organizational skills.
- Leadership and team management experience.
- Must possess excellent English communication skills, verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of audiences.
- Must possess advanced technology skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
