Job Description
A typical day for our Theater Arts Professional includes:
- Oversees a group of up to 4 special needs individuals.
- Teaches theater, improv, to individuals at all stages, teaching multiple classes a day.
- Engages individuals in a fun /meaningful theater activity.
- Participates in staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Documents on goals to help track progress.
- Spearheads the writing, rehearsal, production, design and building of at least one theater production per year.

What you’ll need to be successful:
· Demonstrates personal skills and creative talents in theatre, preferably proficiency with improvisational exercises, basic theater skills, interactive storytelling, reader’s theater, and sessions with the TERI Players performance class.
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, sing, and perform many forms of theater.
· Represent, develop, promote, and provide PR support for TERI performing arts program to the performing arts community, and the public as assigned and as time permits.
- Demonstrates the ability to use and operate electronic music and audio equipment such as amplifiers, speakers, monitors, microphones, lights, PA systems, keyboards, sound boards, and other various theater equipment.
We would love it if you:
- Theater arts Education, or Performance related field, ability to operate sound equipment, required.
- One (1) year prior experience working with developmentally disabled individuals or related field preferred.
Range: $23.00 - $25.00 / Hour
TERI participates in the CalGrows Program, offering you the opportunity to earn up to $6,000.00, in addition to your regular salary, while growing your career and developing your skills through free, online training courses.
TERI participates in the Direct Service Professional Training Stipend Program offering you the opportunity to earn up to $1,250.00, in addition to your regular salary, to help enhance your job skills after completing two free, 1-hour online courses.
