The animal care position at JRAH is a critical behind the scenes position in the organization. Animal care assistants are expected take care of each and every animal as if it were his/her own. Animal care assistants care for, feed, water, exercise and clean up after the animals who stay as a patient in the hospital ward. The position requires someone with a great deal of attention to detail with cleanliness and organization and someone who is compassionate and caring to all animals. In addition to taking care of the animals, animal care assistants also do general janitorial duties around the hospital. JRAH prides itself on the maintenance and care of its facilities so our expectations for our animal care assistants is great. The following is a list of general job duties and responsibilities. This list is a small portion of the responsibilities and is not considered to be all-inclusive.
Sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors
Picking up litter and trash on exterior of building
Feeding, watering, bathing, exercising, cleaning up after animals
Doing laundry-wash, dry, fold
Cleaning and stocking restrooms
Taking out trash
Cleaning windows, walls, décor, shelves
Cleaning and organizing storage rooms
Putting away food purchases
Cleaning staff lounge/doing dishes
Outside landscape work as needed (pulling weeds, some snow removal,etc..)
Some heavy lifting
Additional responsibilities and projects as assigned
