Round Lake Area Schools District 116Under supervision from the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Night Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that facility work goals are met; services are provided in an efficient and effective manner, ensures that staff utilizes appropriate procedures and safe practices, ensures that jobs are completed efficiently and within regulatory guidelines and project deadlines, ensures optimal utilization of personnel and other resources. Primary Work Hours: Monday through Friday 2:30 - 10:30 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the assignment and is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties.

1. Complete the evaluation of all night custodians for the purpose of ensuring that school and district facilities are cleaned to the expectations as outlined by the Facilities Department;
2. Respond by being present with vendors during emergency repairs after hours;
3. Create and implement monthly professional development program for night custodians to improve skills and abilities;
4. Conduct nightly sight visits and walkthroughs;
5. Develop and implement long and short-range maintenance plans/programs, (e.g., Deferred Maintenance Plan, emergency response plans, energy management plans, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that the district's resources are effectively utilized;
6. Inspects, reviews, and assigns tasks through the FixIt work order system;
7. Monitors the district's facility use system;
8. Inspects repair work, projects, equipment, daily maintenance, and supplies for the purpose of ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently and within local/state/federal regulations;
9. Works with the Director of Facilities and Construction Project Manager in directing and coordinating projects (e.g., site repairs/construction, preventative maintenance, etc.);
10. Presents various programs (e.g., safety, maintenance, accident prevention, etc.) for the purpose of informing staff of appropriate procedures and safe practice;
11. Prepares various documents (cost estimates, budgets, reports, contract specifications, etc.) for the purpose of providing necessary information to outside agencies and district personnel;
12. Solicits quotations for the purpose of providing cost information, making purchases, and securing items/services;
13. Attends various meetings for the purpose of addressing concerns, and providing and receiving information;
14. Responsible for custodial equipment evaluation, training, and purchase; and
15. Other duties as assigned.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The following identifies the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are essential for the Night Supervisor (this is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties).

1. Considerable knowledge of school buildings, maintenance, and operational services within a school district.
2. Ability to plan, inspect and supervise the work of many custodians.
3. Knowledge of cleaning expectations and essential equipment needed to maintain school cleanliness.
4. Ability to effectively communicate performance expectations and provide feedback.
5. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
6. Ability to express oneself effectively, both orally and in writing.
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, staff, contractors, etc.
8. Knowledge of the principles and practices of safety related to building operations.
9. Ability to problem solve and manage projects.
10. Knowledge of relevant State and Municipal codes and regulations.
11. Interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills.
12. Ability to learn and follow policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience and/or general knowledge as a school custodial supervisor or the equivalent at other institutions or firms preferred.
3. Prior job-related experience must demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility including supervision of projects and personnel.
4. Possess a current Illinois or Wisconsin Motor Vehicle Class D Operator License and evidence of insurance and access to transportation.
