SUPERVISOR: Athletic Program & Facilities Manager
EDUCATION &
EXPERIENCE: Graduate of a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education with an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience Managing Staff
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have good oral and written communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision, to solve problems and produce work on a timely basis.
Demonstrate initiative, dependability, good judgment, tact, analytical skills, leadership, and the ability to work in a positive manner with the general public, Park District staff and Board of Commissioners.
TIPS Certified or willingness to obtain TIPS certification
Valid IL Driver’s License
CPR/AED certification preferred.
HOURS: The hours of work shall be designated by the immediate supervisor, based on scheduled activities and need for field supervision.
Weekday Evenings and all day on Weekends
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS: Quality customer service, working with groups of all ages (youth and adults).
Supervise use of fields at Heritage Park Sports Complex
Answer questions, promote positive community relations and represent the Wheeling Park District to various athletic user groups.
Arrive in advance of activities in order to open/close, and prepare facility or field use for athletic events or programs.
Oversee operations of Heritage Park Concessions as well as assisting in concessions operations when necessary
Secure appropriate supplies for athletic programs.
Assist in the powering on/off of Heritage Park Sports Complex lights
Being visible at all times in WPD approved uniform.
Monitor safety related to facility use and weather. Make decisions in cooperation with officials regarding weather related program/event cancellations.
Complete appropriate safety forms as needed. Dispense first aid supplies as necessary.
Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
Clock in and out of Paycom with exact hours worked for payroll purposes. If Paycom is not available, a punch change request must be made to correct the time.
