Form of workOverview: The Facilities Assistant provides services related to maintaining and repair for several Covenant House properties. Responsibilities: Handles routine maintenance and repairs of equipment and physical plant of several Covenant House NJ properties. Serves as part of the Facilities team responsible for maintaining all agency buildings, equipment and inventory.
Completes maintenance requests process Assists the Facility Manager in maintaining contact with outside contractors regarding the maintenance of facilities and equipment that provided services to Covenant House NJ. Assists with inventory control and accountability of all equipment and supplies throughout multiple sites. Maintains inventory count of supplies and equipment.
Assists in handling the shipping and receiving of purchased items. Safely and properly handles all agency property including tools and equipment. Assists housekeeping with heavy lifting, equipment cleaning and maintenance of closets, tools and equipment.
Handles minor vehicle maintenance including weekly review of each vehicle as by the established maintenance checklist. Transports agency vehicles for repair, service and cleaning. Assists with fundraising event set up, delivery and disassembling.
Event assistance may be conducted outside normal work hours. Operation of powered and non-powered tools. Follows all safety procedures.
Carries out other duties as assigned. we are seeking applicants available weekdays 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on call as needed
